Our why & the story behind it
The journey into motherhood is so heavily focused on birth and the baby. So much planning and preparation goes into setting up for the arrival. But then all of a sudden, you have a baby and you're thrown into the unknown.
For me personally (Shenaid), I went into motherhood expecting to be a natural. But it was a rude shock when reality sunk in. I wasn't prepared for the intensity, the steep learning curve, the challenges - including a real disconnection from my identity and who I've always seen myself as.
As I confided in Sarah during my postpartum, I realized that while my experience isn't everyone's, what is universal is we all face hurdles.
Bringing a baby into this world is a mammoth, life-changing experience.
It's a complex web of polarizing emotions.
You can be exploding with love yet hanging on by a thread simultaneously. And it made us wonder - how could we make this transition even a little smoother and more enjoyable?
How could we help new moms find their footing and reconnect with who they are?
Nothing will change what a big transformation this is. There will always be growth and discomfort - that's the beauty of life. But things like ugly bras, disposable breast pads, and adult nappies surely don't need to be the norm.
That's where Nu Mami was born - to tackle the big challenges head-on through:

Our mission is to create a space for moms to come connect, feel seen and heard, and leave feeling inspired to embrace this journey - empowered to tackle whatever comes their way.
